A message from HYA Training (6th September 2021)

As we start a new academic year and in response to the Government’s announcement regarding the easing of COVID-19 restrictions please note that the following will take effect from 6th September 2021:

Study Programme Students

• Will no longer be required to wear face coverings in any area of the building
• Class bubbles will no longer be implemented
• We request that students do not congregate in the reception area
• Students will be asked to carry out issued LFD tests twice a week – completing home tests is not mandatory and you will still be able to attend HYA Training if you choose not to complete a home test.
• We encourage all students who are offered a COVID-19 vaccination to take up this offer, again this is not mandatory, and you will still be able to attend HYA Training if you choose not to take up the offer of a vaccination.
• We do ask that you do not attend HYA Training if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, you should contact your tutor and follow the usual absence/sickness reporting procedure. You must book a PCR test and follow the current Government guidance regarding self-isolation click here

Apprentices/Adult Students

• Will no longer be required to wear face coverings in any area of the building
• We do request that where possible you complete an LFD test prior to attending our site.
• Apprentices/adult students are asked not to congregate in the reception area and to attend on site sessions no earlier than 15 minutes prior to your session commencing.
• We do ask that you do not attend HYA Training if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. You should contact your tutor and follow your workplace absence/sickness reporting procedure. You must book a PCR test and follow the current Government guidance for self-isolation.

Please note that you are required to report the result of any home tests via the NHS online reporting system by clicking here

Any contractors/delivery/postal workers

• We request that you follow the directions of our reception staff on entry to the building
• We do ask that you do not attend HYA Training site if you have any symptoms of COVID-19.

Although face coverings are no longer mandatory when on site, we will support anyone who wishes to continue to wear a face covering. We have a supply of disposable face coverings should you wish to wear one, please ask our reception team member or your session tutor and they will be happy to help.

All other COVID safety precautions will remain in place, and all of our current practices will continue:
• On entry to HYA Training your tutor/invigilator/reception team member will ask and record your responses to several pre-session questions, this is to help ensure we are doing everything we can to keep everyone safe when on site. This information will be stored by the Operations Director and disposed of after 3 weeks.
• Wash hands on entry to the building
• Use the alcohol hand gel regularly
• Enter via the front door and exit via the back door
• Windows in all classrooms/offices must be open to allow a flow of fresh air, doors should remain open and when students go on breaks or for lunch the windows should be opened wide to allow for full air circulation.
• Follow the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ rules when coughing or sneezing
• All staff members will continue to complete twice weekly LFD tests.
• Enhanced cleaning schedules will continue

Finally: Should cases of COVID-19 continue to grow and following any new updates from the Government some restrictions may be re-introduced, this could include wearing face coverings in certain areas of the building, moving to some online sessions because of illness and restricting the number of people on site at any one time. Your tutor will inform you if any form of restriction is to be re-introduced.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us to keep everyone at HYA Training as safe as possible.
